Eligibility for a pension rebate
Both the State Government and the City of Kingston offer a Pension rebate for eligible pensioners. The types of rebates and amounts are as below.

Government rebate
Pensioners who are in receipt of the appropriate concession cards as determined by the State Government are eligible for a rebate of up to 50% of rates and charges up to a maximum of $259.50 per year (up $6.30 this year).
Note the rebate is only applicable where the property is the principal place of residence of the applicant (rental properties are not eligible for the rebate).
Council rebate
Council has increased the Pensioner Concession Rebate from $120 to $123.30 where the above Concession applies.
Fire services property levy rebate
Pensioners who are in receipt of the appropriate concession cards as determined by the State Government are eligible for a rebate of $50 applied to the fire services property levy.
How to apply
If you believe you're eligible for a council rebate, complete an application form(PDF, 180KB) and email it to info@kingston.vic.gov.au. Hard copies of this form are also available from any of our customer service centres.
