Sharps disposal
Council provides a free sharps disposal service and free sharps containers to Kingston residents.
This service is not available to businesses.
Containers can be collected and dropped off at our Cheltenham offices at 1230 Nepean Highway, Cheltenham, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm. A free replacement container can be supplied when needed.
There are also pharmacies that participate in the Victorian Government Needle and Syringe Exchange Program that can also be accessed for sharps disposal.
Please note: Sharps containers that are damaged, enclosed in other bags or where sharps are visible will not be accepted.
Businesses that use sharps for procedures/services they provide must arrange for sharps disposal via a private contractor.
