Seaford Wetlands Rejuvenation Project is part of the Victorian Government’s $315 million Suburban Parks Program to create more than 6,500 hectares of new and upgraded parks and trails across Melbourne’s outer suburbs.
As part of this program, the Victorian Government is funding $5 million of upgrades at Seaford Wetlands with a focus on:
The Seaford Wetlands Rejuvenation Project is led by state government who has partnered with City of Kingston to deliver the shared user path component at Patterson Lakes. This will create a full pedestrian and cycling circuit around the wetlands.
The Seaford Wetlands Rejuvenation Project is among more than 100 park and trail projects being delivered through the Suburban Parks Program.
These works will be tendered shortly, with the project expected to be delivered in mid-2025.
A new 2.5m wide concrete shared use path will be created between Old Wells Road and the Melbourne Water Pump Station near 118 Palm Beach Drive, along the northern side of Kananook Creek.
The path will connect to the existing footpath in Palm Beach Drive in front of the Melbourne Water Pump Station and create the link to the newly constructed pedestrian bridge west of the Melbourne Water Pump Station.
Works are expected to be undertaken in autumn2025 and will take up to 12 weeks to complete.
More information will be provided closer to the commencement of construction. We look forward to delivering these improvements to our community.
