As part of our commitment to improving open spaces and sporting facilities in Kingston, we developed a Masterplan for Namatjira Park(PDF, 7MB) to help guide the long-term planning for the site.

Key improvements identified in the Masterplan include:

  • Traffic improvements, including discontinuation of traffic to and from Newport Road and improved car parking at the park
  • Upgraded multi-sports field with sports lighting and practice cricket nets
  • Upgraded playground
  • Expanded path and trail network and improved lighting
  • New pavilion (relocated to the western side of the sports field)
  • New active play zone that accommodates tennis courts (x2), basketball/netball, futsal courts, tennis rebound wall and improved skate/scooter/BMX infrastructure facilities
  • All-weather (synthetic) bowls green with membrane roof

A timeframe for the improvements is yet to be confirmed, and their implementation is subject to securing the necessary funding.
