Proposed sale of Council owned land

Kingston City Council, acting under section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020 (“the Act”) and under section 223 of Local Government Act 1989, hereby gives notice of its intention to sell land (“the proposal”) at:

33 Balcombe Road Mentone 3194
Being the land described in Certificate of Title Volume 07070 Folio 286 and being Lot 3 on PS017567 shown on the map attached.

The proposal is that the land:

  • Is sold by a public process.
  • Is sold at a price not less than its market value as determined by Council’s independent Certified Practicing Valuer.
  • Is sold on terms and conditions as determined by Council’s solicitor.

In accordance with Council’s Community Engagement Policy, any person may make a submission on the proposal. Any person proposing to make a submission must do so by the close of business 6 April 2025.

A person making a submission may request to be heard in support of their submission. Any person requesting to be heard is entitled to appear in person or by a person acting on their behalf before a meeting of Council or a sub-committee of Council.

Any person making a written submission in accordance with the Policy is advised that all submissions and personal information in the submission will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy & Data Protection Act 2014.

Following consideration of submissions, if any, Council may decide to sell, or not to sell, the subject property.
