Back for its second year, Moorabbin Music + Arts is a community celebration jam-packed with an exciting and eclectic program of music, arts, and free family fun.  

Over three days, the Kingston Arts Precinct will come alive with free and low-cost activities for all ages. Featuring live music, interactive installations, innovative arts and crafts, free family activities and tasty food trucks. Come along for a relaxing, local day out with friends and family and support our local artists!

Entry to the Arts Precinct area is free, some performances are ticketed.

Friday 21 February

6pm Welcome to Country 

6.05pm Tutor 22

Tutor 22 is made up of Tristan Heath and Harley Luscombe. Tristan Heath plays a folk-style genre inspired by artists such as Ben Howard, Ziggy Alberts, and Pete Murray. Harley Luscombe draws inspiration from a diverse range of artists such as Matt Corby, David Bowie, and Childish Gambino. Both artists craft a unique sound that seamlessly blends elements of Folk, Rock, and Soul. 

7pm DJ Glow

DJ Glow is a multi-genre DJ whose passion for music blossomed in the vibrant streets of Melbourne. Falling in love with the art of sound in a unique way, Glow has dedicated their craft to celebrating Afro sounds and global beats while taking audiences on a euphoric journey. 

8pm Wild Gloriosa

Gloria is a multifaceted musician and performer, renowned for her soulful, gentle timbre and moving song-writing style. As a Geelong local with Tamil heritage, Gloria brings a rich cultural influence to her art, creating a unique and compelling sound that resonates with diverse audiences.

11am - 4pm Art & Exhibitions

Déjà vu by Mark Forbes
Déjà vu is a captivating exhibition of C-Type prints featuring a number of large scale images from Mark Forbes' recent monograph Collected memories alongside a handful of images that have not been shared anywhere previously before. 

Noitsuahxe by Nahbananas
Noitsuahxe (pronounced noit-su-ah-ae) is an exhibition by Nahbananas that delves into themes of ecological fragility and restoration.

12pm - 9pm Chromatica by The Indirect Object

Chromatica turns the childhood kaleidoscope into a large-scale interactive artwork. Designed for cooperative play; take a turn spinning the huge octagonal wheels, then look through the viewers to see the mesmerising colour patterns shift endlessly in front of your eyes.

12pm - 2pm, 2.30pm - 4.30pm Art Tree by Polyglot Theatre 

A gentle, creative Play Space with natural materials and paint markers, Art Tree invites you to find your magic, connect through colour, and draw - everywhere! Spread your branches and reach for the sky. You are the art.

3pm - 7pm Face Painting by Sunny Faces

Come and get your face painted to become a magical creature, superhero, or whatever your imagination dreams of!

4pm Harry James Angus Duo

An icon of Australian music, Harry James Angus has been a leading voice in Australian jazz, soul, and improvised music for over 25 years. Best known for his work with seminal Australian band The Cat Empire - and his legendary improvised performances - he is an artist in a constant state of re-invention.

5.30pm Fulton Street 

Beloved Melbourne party band Fulton Street has an irresistible sound that draws you to the dance floor time and time again. Young in spirit and timeless in style, Fulton Street is a salute to the very best of soul, funk, and grooves.

7pm Grand WaZoo

The dynamic and legendary 13-piece Grand WaZoo presents the most authentic and entertaining Soul + Motown Music Spectacular outside the USA. With 3 knockout Soul Singers upfront, backed by the fabulous WaZoo Horns and Rockin' Rhythm masters, this world-class act is a must-see.

Have you ever made music with a marigold? Composed with a chrysanthemum? Or listened to some lavender? Connect with nature! Reach out and touch real plants to play these unique organic instruments. The Plants are new experimental musical instruments that combine organic matter and bespoke digital sensors developed by Playable Streets.

Amaru Tribe is a playground to explore the intersection between cultures, traditional music from Latin America and new contemporary sounds; vibrating charangos, urban flow, electronic and Afro-Latin beats, and powerful vocal harmonies which create a portal that gives birth to an unknown genre they call 'Cumbia Oceanica'. 

Admission: $5-10 + Booking Fee

5pm 100 Women, 100 Stories. 

100 Women, 100 Stories is a heartwarming song cycle crafted by six award-winning female composers, inspired by the real-life stories of women from all walks of life, where 100 voices unite to create harmony and share powerful narratives.
