Foundations of Empowerment

This opening session introduces educators to the foundations of child empowerment and its role in enhancing children’s learning outcomes through an approach of respect, consent and relational practices. This session will feature valuable resources, interactive breakout sessions, and open discussions to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Aims of the session:

  • For participants to understand the value and importance of empowerment for children in improving learning outcomes and embedding key elements of the child safe standards.
  • For educators to develop, strengthen and enhance their understanding of what empowerment can look like in the context of early childhood education.
  • For educators to identify the importance of their role in supporting child empowerment with respectful interactions and relationships.
  • For educators to develop their understanding of how to demonstrate, embed and discuss concepts of consent and empowerment in daily professional practice.
