I live in an apartment/unit, do I have access to the hard waste service?

Residential properties using Council’s kerbside bins receive two free on-call collections per financial year.

This service is not available for commercial organisations or residents that use private waste collection services, such as large multi-unit dwellings.

Please contact your Property Manager or Owner’s Corporation to arrange a collection.

Why did my items not get collected?

  • You may have already used your two free collections this year – extra bookings are available for a small cost

  • Some items were not allowed, such as: bagged rubbish, building or renovation waste, gas bottles, paint or chemicals

  • Some items were too heavy – nothing can be over 40kg

  • Some items were too large – no single item can be more than 1.5m long

  • There was too much of one material, like timber or carpet

  • You booked after the 3pm cut off the day before collection
