Andreea Sfarlea
Andreea leads the Free Everything - City of Kingston group, a grassroots initiative with over 10,000 members, promoting the free exchange of items to reduce waste and support those in need.
Her efforts have fostered sustainability, strengthened community ties, and provided relief to individuals and families facing economic challenges, with the platform enabling residents to give away unwanted items for free, cultivating a culture of reuse and reducing waste.
Launching and sustaining the group has required immense dedication and resilience and is a testament to Andreea’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and community well-being.
Andreea plans to expand the group into a not-for-profit organisation featuring used goods markets and repair cafés to strengthen the community further and promote sustainability.
Catherine Pinches
Catherine excels at fundraising, supporting schools like Aspendale Gardens Primary School.
In 2023, her efforts raised over $51,000 for the school, showcasing her dedication and impact, and resulted in a completely refurbished play area, including a new basketball and netball court, soccer goals, and a 4-square area.
Catherine is also deeply involved in supporting other important causes.
She actively contributes to the Buxton Pink Gala, raising money for breast cancer research, and has helped fundraise for numerous other charitable organisations over the years.

Hannah Daniels
Hannah's contribution to the community through her cat rescue operation, Hannah's Haven, is truly remarkable.
The volunteer home-based rescue organisation has become a network of foster carers and volunteers focused on education, rehoming, and rescuing homeless animals.
Hannah started by rescuing abandoned kittens found in her backyard and it has now turned into a full-time job as she assists the community by providing a safe space for abandoned and stray cats.
Hannah's generosity is evident in her care, assistance, and support for animal foster families by supplying food, litter, and medical care, thus reducing the financial burden.
Hannah's Haven is more than just a rescue operation; it reflects her deep commitment to creating a compassionate, caring community for both animals and people.
Leanne Maloni
Founded in 2014 by Leanne Maloni, The Ladies of Lochiel is a collective of households in Edithvale whose purpose is to provide food packs for vulnerable people in our community.
The You Are Special food packs are the initiative of two charities, Servants of the Two Hearts and Reaching Out Because We Can.
The packs contain 14 non-perishable items to ensure the recipients have enough food to see them through to their next meal.
Leanne's household started by supplying 10 bags and as neighbours heard, the group quickly expanded and now delivers 50 bags monthly. The group also provide clothing, hand knits, and bulk food.
The Ladies of Lochiel hope that they can inspire others to create their own collective and start packing.
Kirstine Mann
Kirstine, owner of Highett Podiatry, has been serving the Kingston community for nearly 30 years, providing vital podiatric care.
In addition to in-clinic appointments, Kirstine offers home visit podiatry services for residents who are unable to leave their homes, helping to meet the needs of an ageing population.
In April 2022, Kirstine opened a second clinic in Mentone, strategically located near the train station and local schools, to further accommodate the community's need for accessible podiatry care.
To meet the varied schedules of her patients, she offers flexible hours, with appointments available from 7.30am to 7.30pm.
Kirstine is also deeply committed to supporting local charities and community groups, backing a wide variety of organisations.
Michelle Roberts
Michelle began her leadership journey in Kingston as Assistant Principal at Cheltenham Secondary College before becoming Principal of Mordialloc College in 2011.
Michelle prioritised teacher development, implementing a triad coaching model in 2016 for staff to observe and improve each other's teaching.
In 2020, the Victorian Government case study for 'Middle Years Literacy and Numeracy Support' highlighted the outstanding results of Mordialloc College's intervention program.
Her dedication to the college extended beyond academics. Michelle built strong relationships within the community, emphasising respect and value for everyone, and promoting positive student behaviour.
At the 2019 Victorian Excellence in Education Awards, she received two awards - the 'Lindsay Thompson Award for Excellence in Education' and the 'Secondary Principal of the Year’.
Neetu Dang
Neetu is a local business champion and has supported multiple fundraising initiatives through her business, Foodworks in Cheltenham.
She contributed significantly to the Follett Road artwork project, ensuring the design reflected the area's history and identity.
Beyond her business contributions, Neetu has shown an unwavering dedication to charitable causes.
Neetu arranges annual collection tins at her Foodworks store for the Good Friday Appeal.
She has also been a consistent and greatly valued supporter of the local Saint Vincent de Paul Society in Cheltenham, significantly aiding the society's efforts to assist struggling individuals and families in the area.
In the year leading up to May 2024, the society’s volunteers assisted 802 adults and 490 children through 530 visits to 130 households.
Odri Fernandes
Odri coaches entrepreneurs, significantly increasing business success rates.
Those coached by Odri highlight the transformative impact she's had by believing in them when they've struggled, connecting deeply, and understanding both business challenges and personal dreams.
Odri has facilitated 50 successful partnerships, creating jobs and fostering economic growth, including employing nine staff in India with flexible arrangements for those facing mental health challenges.

As Deputy Unit Controller for Chelsea SES, she ensures operational readiness and manages resources for emergency responses.
Ria also supports disaster survivors nationwide, offering both practical and emotional care, with her dedication and selflessness, despite the physical and emotional toll, showcasing her remarkable commitment to community service.

Sofia is the founding manager and designer of Aspergers Victoria's Teens Work KnowHow program.
